Bingen is located along the Columbia River and only 60 miles east of Portland, Oregon.  The town was platted in 1892 and named after Bingen-on-the-Rhine, Germany.  A great spot for a wide variety of recreational activities such as windsurfing, kayaking, hiking, horseback riding, fishing, hunting, skiing, snowmobiling or just checking out some of the local wines.

White Salmon, with a population of 2,220 sits on a bluff above Bingen overlooking the Columbia River across from Hood River, Oregon. The local economy has been hit hard by the decline in the timber industry, but is seeing a rise in tourist-related industries and light manufacturing.

Trout Lake is a town of about 600 people southwest of the Mt Adams Wilderness Area.  The Mt Adams Ranger District - Gifford Pinchot National Forest is located in southwest Washington State. The Forest provides a wide variety of recreation opportunities and includes the 110,000 acre Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument established by Congress in 1982.
