May 1966 - Bingen Point - West harbor before Bonneville fill

ImageArea between Bingen Lake and Bingen Harbor
DateMay 1966 (estimated)
PerspectiveFacing Northwest

The area west of Bingen Harbor and east of Bingen Lake as it appeared when farmed by the Dickey family and before the receipt of dredge spoils. Fill material resulting from construction of a second navigation lock at Bonneville Dam would be received from the Army Corps of Engineers and used to fill this area in 1992. The base of the west harbor dike can be seen running along the right side of the photograph. Bingen Lake can be seen in the background.

A dry, sparse landscape with patches of grass and debris, hills in the background, and a single pole standing in a muddy area.
