Port of Klickitat Receives Clean Audit Results
The Port of Klickitat is proud to announce the successful completion of another clean audit. The Washington State Auditor’s Office completed an accountability audit for January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2024. The audit focused on compliance with applicable state laws, regulations, and policies, and controls over the safeguarding of public resources. The Port received no findings or management recommendations and meets the highest standards of financial stewardship and compliance.
“This achievement is a direct result of the day-to-day hard work and integrity of our entire staff and our board’s strategic oversight has been instrumental in ensuring our operations remain strong, transparent, and economic development mission-focused." said Margie Ziegler, Executive Director.
“The actual cost of the audit was approximately $4,800 less than the estimated due to the efficiency of the State auditors and Port staff,” said Port Commissioner Jim Herman.
“The audit reflects the organization’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and operational excellence,” said Port Commissioner Jim Herman.
“Having the Washington State Auditor’s Office inspect and review our operations helps assure the public that we are spending their tax dollars properly and operating with transparency,” said Port Commissioner Jim Herman.
